Superpass Celebration
Superpass is one of the traditions of the University of Hong Kong. By chopping roasted pigs and writing couplets, all Sunnians are blessed to pass the examinations with flying colours!
High Table Dinners
High Table Dinner is an important element in Hall Education. This long-held traditional culture in HKU allows hall-mates to refine their dining etiquette, socializing abilities and personal attire. General rundown includes speeches by the Warden and guests, singing Hall Song, and serving of a three-course dinner.
In the Inaugural High Table Dinner, Sunnians can know more about the succeeding cabinet of the Executive Committee of Suen Chi Sun Hall Students’ Association.
Farewell High Table Dinner
In this annaual event held in late April, Sunnians pay gratitude to the graduating hall-mates. Performances are prepared by each floor to show our blessings to them. The Farewell High Table Dinner always leaves a beautiful memory in hearts of all Sunnians.
Phoenix Camp
Previously named as Unix Camp, potential freshmen of the University of Hong Kong are welcomed to join the camp. It is a precious experience for them to get to know our Hall and enjoy various programmes, ranging from informative academic sharing to exciting mass games. Not only can they have a taste of the fruitful Hall life, such as enjoying morning tea, participants can also gain an impression of the unique Hall Culture in Suen Chi Sun Hall.
Registration Day
The Registration Day is organized by the Hong Kong University Students’ Union annually. Booth displays in campus and sharing by hall-mates during hall tours are means to let freshmen get to know more about our Hall.
Sun Camp
Freshmen can have a taste of hall life and know more about our Hall through joining Sun Camp. Through immersing themselves into the entertaining two-day camp, participants can have a glimpse of the life inside Sun Chi Sun Hall before the hall admission registration period.
Suen Chi Sun Hall Orientation
Suen Chi Sun Hall Orientation aims at developing Sunnians’ sense of dedication and cultivating self-identity as a Sunnian. Thus, Hall Orientation can strengthen the bonding between current hall-mates and freshmen through enhancing their unity.
Information Day for Undergraduate Admission
Information Day for Undergraduate Admission is organized by Hong Kong University Students’ Union annually. The public, mainly potential students of the University of Hong Kong, may know more about our Hall by visiting our booth and participating in our hall tours led by Sunnians.
Suen Chi Sun Hall Festival
Suen Chi Sun Hall Festival contains a series of programmes in mid-November to celebrate our Hall’s birthday. Through different activities held annually, such as Singing Contest, Food Bazaar and Beauty Contest, the relationship among Sunnians can be deepened.
Athletics Meet
Athletics Meet is a sports day allowing hall-mates to compete in different field and track events. It helps to promote a stronger sports atmosphere in the Hall and to cultivate Sunnians’ interests towards sports. In the Athletics Meet, two or more floors are grouped together as a unit and therefore the relationship among hall-mates from different floors can be enhanced.
Joint-hall Activities
Sunnians take part in annual Joint-Hall Music Performance, Joint-Hall Mass Dance and Joint-Hall Singing Contest actively. These activities are organized by Joint-Hall Cultural Committee to provide a platform for the interaction between different halls in the above cultural events.
Inter-hall Competitions
Sunnians engage in both cultural and sports inter-hall competitions every year.
